Mind Gap

Feb 25, 2021

In this week’s episode, the boys are all by themselves and they are on a roll. They start the show off by bouncing rapidly from impressions, to stories, to housekeeping, and more as Doug and Justin keep a hectic pace. We find out it is in part due to Justin spending the day watching Entourage and Doug going through a small blackout and rediscovering his creative flow.

Once that’s been established, the guys dig their heels into the imminent arrival of the Snyder Cut of Justice League due out March 18th on HBO Max. It’s a topic they’ve covered before but somehow there is still more new information on this 4-hour extravaganza. It’s going to be released in the 4:3 aspect ratio and there’s going to be a black and white version called Justice is Gray, which Justin can’t for the life of him understand.

The guys also talk about the burgeoning NFT market where the Nyan Cat GIF non-fungible token sold for $580,000 worth of Ethereum at auction. Doug tries to rationalize paying that amount of money for a GIF that is indistinguishable from other GIFs of the Nyan Cat. Justin is of course disgusted by the concept and dons his “old man” hat and calls the concept new and scary. What’s scarier is the existence of a pair of Cock Foster twins (careful googling that one). These twins, akin to the Winklevoss Twins, started the auction site Nifty Gateway where the NFT market exists.

Everything leads to a throw-down in the old school style pitting an overpowered DC character against their Marvel counterpart. The Martian Manhunter clashes against the Vision and only one can emerge victoriously.
